Popular Food Unhealthy Ingredients

  1. Whole Wheat Bread (or Normal Bread)
    • What: Contains Potassium Bromate and Potassium Iodade to make bread soft and fluffy. These ingredients may be mentioned or may be masked under “Flour Treatment Agent”
    • Why: Potassium Bromate is supposed to be Carcinogenic and hence banned from many countries apart from India. Potassium Iodade increases Iodine absorption in body increasing risk of Thyroid problem.
    • Replacement: Whole Wheat Roti, Bread from trusted bakery
  2. Sugar Free
    • What: Lactose, Aspartame
    • Why: Aspartame may cause Weight Gain, Increase in BP, Increase in Blood pH level, Night Blindess, Enlarged Heart. Lactose would be unhealthy for Lactose Intolerant people.
    • Replacement: Normal White Sugar, Honey.
  3. Maggie
    • What: Sodium content specially in taste maker
    • Why: High Sodium would increase BP, will increase water retention by body.
    • Replacement: Home made food.
  4. Chicken Nuggets
    • What: Whole Chicken including bones, eyes etc.
    • Why: Most of left over pieces of chicken are processed to make chicken nuggets
    • Replacement: NA
